Statement of the Resident Commissioner Regarding the Death of Osama Bin Laden

San Juan, Puerto Rico- “Last night, we witnessed an historic moment. The announcement of President Obama that U.S. forces had carried out a targeted military operation that killed the terrorist mastermind Osama Bin Laden has generated feelings of tremendous pride and gratitude among the American people, who suffered so greatly at Bin Laden’s hands. After 10 years, the wounds caused by the Bin Laden-led terrorist attacks have yet to fully heal.

“I want to congratulate the American public for maintaining their pride and their faith in the face of these horrific attacks, and in particular the brave men and women of our armed forces and intelligence community who have sought for a decade to bring justice to the victims of 9/11. And I commend President Obama for his leadership and perserverence in our fight againstterrorism.”
